Bringing Balance Home
Overnight Pet Sitting
Policies

These policies help to ensure clear expectations before every stay. They are designed to protect your pets, your home, and the quality of care I provide. By booking services with Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting, you acknowledge and agree to these policies and the terms outlined in your service agreement.

1. Meet & Greet

A meet & greet is required before a first-time booking is confirmed. This gives us an opportunity to meet, discuss your pet's routines and needs, review the home, and make sure the requested service is an appropriate fit. A meet & greet does not guarantee a booking. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting reserves the right to decline a booking when the requested care is not a good fit for the pet, household, or service being requested.

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting uses the Time to Pet app for all client interactions. These include scheduling, payments, communication and photos of your pets while you're away. I will walk you through downloading and setting up Time to Pet during the meet and greet.

For returning clients, a new meet & greet may not be necessary unless there have been significant changes to the pet, household, or care instructions.

2. Booking & Reservations

Requested dates are not considered reserved until the booking has been accepted and the required payment has been received. Because overnight and extended-care bookings require me to reserve those dates exclusively for your pets, I may be unable to accept other work during that time. Clients are responsible for reviewing their booking dates, service level, arrival and departure times, and pet information for accuracy on the Time to Pet app.

3. Payment

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve an overnight or extended-care stay. The remaining balance is due on the day of the scheduled start of care. Bookings made within 2 days of the start date may require payment in full at the time of booking. A booking is not considered confirmed until the required payment has been received.

Payments are made through the Time to Pet app used by Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting.

4. Cancellation Policy

Because overnight and extended-care dates are reserved exclusively for your pets, cancellations can result in lost availability that may not be possible to fill.

  • Cancellations made 14 or more days before the start of care will receive a full refund of the deposit.

  • Cancellations made 7–13 days before the start of care will receive 50% of the deposit returned

  • Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the scheduled start of care, deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled start of care, will be charged the full price of the agreed upon stay.

Early return or shortened stay: If you return home earlier than originally scheduled, the unused portion of a booking is not refundable. That time has been reserved exclusively for your pets.

Emergencies: I understand that unexpected circumstances happen. In the event of a genuine emergency or extraordinary circumstance, Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting may make an exception to the cancellation policy at its discretion. Exceptions are not guaranteed and do not create an ongoing entitlement to future exceptions.

5. Holiday Bookings

Certain high-demand holidays and holiday periods may have different minimum-stay requirements, rates, deposits, or cancellation terms because overnight and extended-care dates are reserved exclusively for your pets.

Recognized holiday periods include:

  • New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

  • Easter weekend

  • Memorial Day weekend

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day weekend, including Monday

  • Thanksgiving and the Friday following

  • Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day period.

(Subject to annual update. Please confirm at the time of booking)

Holiday rates, any applicable surcharge, minimum-stay requirements, and deposit amounts will be communicated before the booking is confirmed. Holiday overnight and extended-care bookings may require a higher deposit (often 50–100% of the total) at the time of acceptance.

Cancellation terms for holiday bookings are stricter than standard terms:

  • Cancellations made 21 or more days before the start of care will receive a full refund of the deposit.

  • Cancellations made 14–20 days before the start of care will receive 50% of the deposit returned.

  • Cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the scheduled start of care, deposits are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations within 7 days of the scheduled start of care may be charged the full price of the agreed-upon stay.

6. Arrival & Departure Times

The start and end times of each booking will be agreed upon in advance. If additional time or care is requested beyond the original booking, availability is not guaranteed and additional charges may apply. Clients should make reasonable efforts to return home at the agreed-upon time. If travel delays or other circumstances require an extension of care, clients should contact Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting as soon as possible and be prepared to arrange alternate care if there is no availability.

7. Understanding Our Pet Sitting Service Tiers

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting provides in-home pet sitting, meaning your pets remain in their familiar environment while I stay in your home according to the service level selected. The appropriate service level will be determined during the meet & greet based on the pet’s needs and normal routine.

Rest Easy
Your sitter will spend the evening and overnight in your home, providing dinner, potty breaks, playtime, affection, bedtime companionship, and early morning care before leaving the next day (typically a 12-hour overnight period).

Rest Easy is ideal for pets who already have appropriate daytime care in place, such as access to a secure dog door, a trusted person providing a midday potty break, or another scheduled caregiver. It is not intended to be a dog’s only care for a full 24-hour period and does not provide continuous daytime presence.

Best for: Independent pets whose normal routine includes spending much of the day on their own.

Daily Presence
Your sitter will begin the day with morning care, then leave for a planned daytime period (typically 8–9 hours) before returning in the evening for dinner, playtime, companionship, and an overnight stay. This structure is designed to mirror the schedule of a pet whose family works outside the home.

Best for: Pets whose normal routine includes spending the workday alone but who benefit from more companionship in the mornings, evenings, and overnight.

Constant Companion
Your sitter will remain in the home for the majority of the day, leaving only briefly (typically no more than two to three hours total) for necessary errands. Meals, playtime, enrichment, medication administration (when agreed), and quiet companionship are woven into the day so your pet experiences minimal disruption to their usual routine.

Best for: Pets who are accustomed to having someone home most of the day or who do best with steady companionship and limited time alone.

Every service level includes feeding and fresh water, potty breaks, companionship, play and enrichment, basic pet-area cleanup, medication administration when agreed upon, and daily updates through the Time To Pet app. Exact arrival, departure, and daily schedules are confirmed during the meet & greet.

8. Additional Pets

All pets receiving care or residing in the home must be disclosed before the booking is confirmed. This includes dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, small animals, and any other household pets, whether or not they are the primary focus of care.

Base rates apply to the first two pets. Additional pets are subject to an add-on fee based on species, size, medical needs, and the complexity of care. Exact fees will be confirmed during the meet & greet or at the time of booking and will appear in the Time to Pet invoice.

Multi-dog or multi-pet households will be evaluated at the meet & greet for compatibility, resource guarding, reactivity, and the need for separate management. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting reserves the right to decline or modify a booking when pets cannot be safely cared for together under the selected service level.

Additional pets not disclosed during booking will require an additional fee or may result in termination of the booking if their care materially changes the agreed-upon service. Clients remain responsible for the cost of the service originally agreed upon at booking.

9. Pet Health & Behavior Disclosure

Clients are required to provide complete and accurate information about their pets.

This includes disclosure of:

  • medical conditions

  • medications

  • allergies

  • mobility limitations

  • anxiety or separation issues

  • aggression or fear-based behavior

  • bite or scratch history

  • escape behavior

  • destructive behavior

  • resource guarding

  • house-soiling

  • reactivity toward people or animals

  • behavioral concerns

  • contagious illnesses or recent exposure

Pet Health Requirements
Dogs must have a current rabies vaccination as required by Arizona law. Clients should be prepared to provide proof of rabies vaccination and enter it into their pet's Time to Pet portal. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting may decline or modify services when a pet has a known contagious condition or does not meet required vaccination standards.

Failure to disclose a known medical or behavioral concern may result in termination of services. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting reserves the right to discontinue care if a pet presents a safety risk to the sitter, another person, another animal, or itself.

10. Medications & Medical Care

Medication administration may be provided when the medication can be safely and reasonably administered by the sitter and the sitter has been instructed by the pet parent. Clients must provide complete written instructions and disclose any medication-related concerns. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting does not diagnose, prescribe, alter dosages, or provide veterinary treatment.

Injectable medications or complex medical care will be considered on an individual basis and may require additional fees.

11. Veterinary Emergencies

If a pet becomes ill or injured during a stay, I will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner or designated emergency contact. If immediate veterinary attention is reasonably necessary and the owner cannot be reached, the client authorizes Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting to seek veterinary care for the pet. The client is responsible for all veterinary, medication, transportation, and related emergency expenses.

Clients are required to provide current:

  • primary veterinarian information

  • preferred emergency veterinarian or hospital

  • emergency contact information

  • relevant medical history

  • medication information

All of the above information should be entered into the Time to Pet app before the start of service.

12. Emergency Contact

Clients must provide an emergency contact authorized to make decisions regarding the pet and home if the owner cannot be reached. This should be someone local who can physically respond if needed.

13. Home Access & Security

Clients are responsible for providing safe and reliable access to the home. This includes keys, codes, and alarm instructions. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting should be notified if changes to access are anticipated for any portion of the stay.

Sitter Accommodations
For overnight stays, a clean, private sleeping space, including a bed with clean linens and adequate air conditioning, is required.

Home Cameras & Privacy
Clients must disclose the presence and location of all indoor cameras or audio-recording devices before the start of care. Outdoor security cameras and doorbell cameras are not required to be disclosed. Cameras and/or audio recordings are not permitted in private areas used by the sitter, including the bedroom and bathroom designated for the sitter.

14. Home Care

During an overnight or extended stay, reasonable household tasks directly related to maintaining the home and caring for the pets may be included. These may include bringing in mail, collecting packages, changing lights or blinds, watering houseplants as instructed, and notifying the owner of obvious household concerns.

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting is not a housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping, or property-management service. Deep cleaning, laundry, yard work, pool care, repairs, or other household projects are not included unless specifically agreed upon in advance.

15. Visitors & Third Parties

For the safety and security of the pets, sitter, and home, Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting will not permit personal guests to visit or stay overnight in the client's home during a booking. If a family member, friend, housekeeper, contractor, dog walker, or other person needs access to the home during a stay, the client should notify Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting in advance.

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting reserves the right to decline access to an unexpected third party when there is a reasonable safety or security concern.

16. Pet Safety

Pets will be handled according to the instructions provided by the owner and in a manner reasonably intended to protect their safety. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting may modify a requested activity when weather, environmental conditions, animal behavior, or another safety concern makes the activity unreasonable.

17. Extreme Weather & Emergencies

Arizona weather can present unusual risks, particularly during extreme heat. Pet activities may be modified, shortened, or moved indoors when outdoor conditions create a safety concern. During a significant household emergency, natural disaster, power outage, fire, flooding, or other dangerous situation, the safety of the pets and sitter will take priority.

If evacuation becomes necessary, the sitter will make reasonable efforts to follow the client's emergency instructions and contact the owner or emergency contact. Additional transportation, boarding, veterinary, or emergency expenses remain the client's responsibility.

18. Illness & Contagious Conditions

Clients must disclose known contagious illnesses or recent exposure before care begins.

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting may decline or modify services when a pet's condition presents a significant risk of transmission or requires care beyond the scope of the service.

If a pet becomes ill during a stay, the owner will be contacted and veterinary care may be obtained when appropriate.

19. Communication During the Stay

Clients may expect regular communication regarding their pets during care. Updates are provided via the TIme to Pet app and may include photographs, messages, feeding information, medication updates, questions, or general observations of your pets.

Clients will be shown how to download and sign into the Time to Pet app at the meet and greet.

For emergencies, Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting will use the emergency contact information provided by the client, if the client is not reachable or responding promptly.

20. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing:

  • accurate information about their pets

  • adequate food, medication, and supplies for the entire booking

  • safe and sanitary living conditions

  • functioning utilities, including properly functioning air conditioning

  • appropriate pet containment

  • current emergency contact information

  • veterinarian information

  • working home access

  • written care instructions

  • sufficient supplies for unexpected delays when reasonably possible

21. Pet Supplies

Clients should provide sufficient food, medication, litter, waste bags, cleaning supplies, and other necessary pet-care supplies for the entire booking. If supplies run unexpectedly low, Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting may purchase necessary items when reasonably appropriate. The client is responsible for reimbursement of any such purchases.

22. Damage & Property

Clients are responsible for damage caused by their pets to the client's home, belongings, or other property during the booking, except where the damage resulted from the sitter's negligence or misconduct. Clients are also responsible for disclosing known behaviors that could reasonably result in property damage. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting will make reasonable efforts to notify the client promptly if damage occurs.

23. Keys & Access Devices

Keys, access codes, garage remotes, and other entry devices provided to Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting will be handled with reasonable care and security. Clients are responsible for providing functional access. If a sitter is unable to enter the home because access information is incorrect, unavailable, or nonfunctional, additional time or expenses required to resolve the situation may be charged to the client.

24. Additional Care Requests

Requests for additional pets, additional services, additional time, or changes to the original booking must be approved before they are considered part of the service. Additional charges may apply. Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee availability.

25. Inability to Provide Care

In the unlikely event that Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting
becomes unable to complete a booking because of serious illness, injury, family emergency, unsafe conditions, or another circumstance outside reasonable control, reasonable efforts will be made to notify the client as quickly as possible and assist with identifying alternative arrangements when possible.

No substitute sitter will be sent into the home without the client's knowledge and approval, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect the pet from harm.

26. Right to Decline or Terminate Services

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting reserves the right to decline or terminate services when:

  • a pet presents an unreasonable safety risk

  • material information about the pet was not disclosed

  • the home presents an unsafe environment

  • the client engages in threatening, abusive, or inappropriate behavior

  • required payment has not been received

  • the requested care falls outside the agreed-upon service

  • the client's instructions conflict with reasonable animal welfare or safety practices

  • circumstances arise that make continued care unreasonable

If services are terminated during an active booking because of a client-related issue, the client will remain responsible for the cost of the service agreed upon at booking.

27. Privacy & Confidentiality

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting respects the privacy of clients and their homes. Information learned through providing services will be treated as confidential and will not be shared unnecessarily. Client information, access information, alarm codes, personal schedules, and other sensitive household details will be used only as reasonably necessary to provide services. Photos or videos taken during a pet-sitting stay will focus on the pets and will not intentionally disclose private personal information or sensitive household details.

28. Professional Relationship

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting is an independent, bonded, and insured LLC. The client relationship is limited to the pet-care services and terms outlined in these policies and the signed service agreement. Nothing in these policies creates a veterinary, employment, or other professional relationship beyond the agreed-upon pet-care services.

29. Insurance

Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting carries professional pet-sitting liability insurance that includes Care, Custody and Control (CCC) coverage through Business Insurers of the Carolinas, an industry leader in pet-care insurance.

This insurance is intended to provide an additional layer of protection for the pets and homes entrusted to my care. Full details regarding liability, limitations, and any applicable waivers are outlined in the signed service agreement. Clients are encouraged to maintain their own pet insurance and homeowners or renters coverage as appropriate.

30. Agreement to Policies

By booking services with Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting, the client acknowledges that they have reviewed and agree to these policies and the terms of the applicable service agreement. The client confirms that the information provided about their pets, household, health, behavior, and care requirements is accurate and complete. These policies are intended to establish clear expectations and support safe, consistent, professional care for every pet entrusted to Bringing Balance Home Overnight Pet Sitting.
